The University of Georgia's team, consisting of third-year students Mona E. Abboud, Taylor L. Stablein, and Casey E. Wofford, reached the semifinals at the National Moot Court Competition held in New York City. The team secured a position among the top four teams nationwide and received recognition for achieving the second-best brief score out of 32 participating teams.
Abboud, Stablein, and Wofford previously went undefeated in their regional competition in Atlanta last November to qualify for the national level of this prestigious tournament.
The National Moot Court Competition is co-sponsored by the American College of Trial Lawyers and the New York City Bar Association. It sees participation from over 180 accredited law schools each year, involving more than 1,000 students.
