The University of Georgia (UGA) has announced a delayed opening on Thursday, January 23, due to weather conditions. The campus will open at 10 a.m., allowing operations teams additional time to address slick spots. The university acknowledges that some community members may face travel challenges and encourages employees to discuss flexible arrangements with supervisors. Students are advised to contact their professors regarding any issues.

The School of Law buildings will also remain closed until 10 a.m. Events scheduled before this time will be rescheduled. Organizers should inform guests and attendees about the closure.

The Law Library will open at 10 a.m. Faculty instructors have the discretion to decide whether classes will proceed and in what format, considering accreditor rules and demands on IT staff.

Clinic operations are similarly affected by the closure, with no requirement for students or faculty to appear in person before 10 a.m. However, clinical faculty or staff may fulfill ethical duties to clients or courts if necessary and safe travel conditions permit.

For questions, students should contact their professors or Dean Dennis or Ms. Tickles for general inquiries. Employees are advised to reach out to their direct supervisors.

The law school emphasizes safety as its top priority and maintains communication regarding weather events' potential impact on operations and community members' travel.

Emergency information is available at emergency.uga.edu, with updates also provided through the law school's homepage and social media platforms. UGA's decisions guide the law school's actions during inclement weather situations.
