Kenneth French, a 2018 graduate of Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School (AJMLS), has been appointed Associate Director for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). In his new position, French is responsible for managing the operations of the SEC’s Atlanta Regional Office and leads the examinations program in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

French brings nearly two decades of experience from the investment management sector. Before joining the SEC, he served as Vice President and Senior Legal Counsel at T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc., following his tenure as Compliance Manager at Invesco Advisers, Inc. He began his career with LPL Financial in various roles across Operations, Trading, and Compliance.

His educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Winston-Salem State University and an MBA from Gardner-Webb University. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from AJMLS in 2018.

Reflecting on his time at AJMLS, French said: “A large part of my success as a lawyer is inextricably linked to the lessons I learned while attending AJMLS. My time as a student at AJMLS was an inflection point for my career. The faculty at AJMLS instilled me with the discipline and humility that shaped my career as a securities lawyer.”

AJMLS acknowledged French's appointment as part of a broader trend of its alumni contributing to law, regulation, and public service. The law school congratulated him on this achievement and expressed anticipation for his impact across the southeastern United States.
