Kevin Ross, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors at Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School (AJMLS), has been inducted into the Gate City Bar Association Hall of Fame. The induction took place during the association’s 2025 Gala.

Ross was honored for his long-standing leadership and service in the legal profession and the wider community. Since becoming a member of the Georgia Bar in 1980, he has worked at several law firms before establishing his own practice in 2002. His legal career includes representing clients in civil litigation, commercial arbitration, and local government law. He served as general counsel to key Atlanta organizations such as the Atlanta Fulton County Recreation Authority during major projects like the development of Olympic Stadium, Turner Field, and Philips Arena, as well as WABE, Atlanta’s public radio and television stations.

In addition to his professional work, Ross has advocated for greater access and representation within the legal field. As President of the Gate City Bar Association in 1985, he led initiatives aimed at increasing judicial appointments for minority attorneys. His public service includes roles on the City of Atlanta Charter Review Commission, the Fulton County Housing Authority, and various nonprofit boards. He also contributed to legal education as the Donald L. Hollowell Professor of Law at Emory University School of Law, teaching Civil Rights and Election Law.

The recognition places Ross among notable figures such as AJMLS Dean Martin L. Ellin, who is also a member of the Gate City Bar Hall of Fame.

“Mr. Ross’ induction into the Hall of Fame stands as a meaningful recognition of his lifelong commitment to justice, education, and civic leadership.”

AJMLS extended its congratulations to Ross for what it described as a well-deserved honor and expressed appreciation for his ongoing contributions to both the law school and Atlanta’s legal community.
