Brumby Distinguished Professor in First Amendment Law Sonja R. West participated in a symposium at Columbia Journalism School, where she presented her recently co-edited book, "The Future of Press Freedom: Democracy, Law, & the News in Changing Times," which she edited with R.A. Jones. The event was titled “The Future of Press Freedom in an Era of Democratic Backsliding” and took place in November.
West’s presentation focused on issues related to press freedom and its relationship to democracy and law during periods of political change.
