Christopher M. Bruner, Stembler Family Distinguished Professor in Business Law, delivered a keynote address titled “Corporate Sustainability and Anti-ESG Backlash” at the SMART Network Symposium in Italy this September. The event was co-sponsored by the Department of Law and the Department of Economics and Statistics at the University of Turin.
Bruner’s presentation focused on challenges facing corporate sustainability efforts amid growing resistance to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives. The symposium, themed “Sustainability is (Still) Possible! Governing Market Actors for a Safe and Just Space,” brought together academics and professionals to discuss governance strategies for sustainable business practices.
