Jere W. Morehead, president of the University of Georgia, has been honored with the Distinguished Career Achievement Award from the Academy of Legal Studies in Business (ALSB). The award acknowledges his leadership at UGA and highlights a career that has spanned more than forty years.

According to the ALSB, this recognition is given to members who “serve as exemplars of excellence in the fields of business law and/or ethics throughout their careers.” The announcement was also featured in a UGA Today release titled “UGA president honored by Academy of Legal Studies in Business,” published on August 5, 2025.

“Congratulations to UGA President Jere W. Morehead (J.D.'80) for receiving the Distinguished Career Achievement Award from the Academy of Legal Studies in Business, honoring his leadership at UGA and his ‘exceptional career spanning more than four decades.’”

The award adds to Morehead’s record of service at the university and within legal education.
