The University of Georgia's School of Law has achieved significant success in its advocacy program over the past five years. The program is recognized as one of the top in the nation, providing students with skills to be effective advocates both inside and outside the courtroom.
During this period, UGA secured 11 national championships, 15 regional titles, and two state trophies. These accomplishments highlight the school's commitment to excellence in legal education and advocacy training.
The 2025 National Trial Competition team from UGA included third-year student Drake Jones and second-year students Dresden Day, Brianna House, and Ethan Thomas. Day and Jones reached the top four teams nationally in the competition and were acknowledged as the most professional team. Notably, Jones received the best advocate award, marking a first for a UGA student. House and Thomas contributed as witnesses during the competition.
