Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School (AJMLS) has announced the recipients of the Spring 2025 Outstanding Student of the Semester Awards. This recognition is awarded to students who have made significant contributions to their community.

The honorees were nominated by peers for demonstrating leadership, kindness, dedication, and service. Following nominations, the student body voted for those who best represented these values during the term.

The awards are organized by the Department of Student Affairs to celebrate individuals shaping AJMLS into a supportive and community-focused environment.

Amari Abbasi, a full-time 1L student interested in sports and entertainment law, is involved with several associations and honors societies. She defines an outstanding student as “someone who consistently goes above and beyond expectations.”

Tyler McGrath, also a full-time 1L planning to return to active duty in the U.S. Army's Judge Advocate General’s Corps, is working on creating a Mentorship Program. He believes an outstanding law student “strives to be the very best in every area.”

Aniyah Vines, a part-time 1L student with aspirations in criminal defense law, was crowned Miss Junior Royale 2025 and interned at NAACP’s Legal Defense Fund. She describes an outstanding law student as one who “sets a goal, creates a plan, stays consistent.”

Piaja Brooks is a rising full-time 3L passionate about criminal law and has served as President of BLSA. Her definition of an outstanding law student involves showing up authentically to build community.

Austin Cauffman aims to practice Real Estate Law upon graduation and participates in multiple legal teams at AJMLS. He views an outstanding law student as someone professional who completes tasks diligently.

Taylor Williams from Miami plans to pursue criminal litigation after graduation. Her involvement includes serving on Moot Court and earning honors grades; she defines excellence as impacting school positively.

Terah Harris focuses on Personal Injury, Family Law, and Criminal Defense due to her belief in advocacy's impact on lives. She maintains that being true while making legal fields just is key for outstanding students.

Bindi Patel found her passion in transactional work through various roles at AJMLS including Secretary of SBA Executive Board. To her, success lies not only in personal gains but also in leading with purpose.

Andres Rincon Jr., passionate about immigration law with extensive pro-bono work experience defines excellence through applying learned principles practically within interests like immigration advocacy efforts he engages passionately toward daily basis endeavors

Jasmine Knight intends working within Criminal Law post-graduation having been actively employed throughout schooling period DA Office maintaining high academic standards alongside leadership positions held Society related programs Peer Mentoring included therein definition exemplary lies aiding others achieving goals shared collectively too
