Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School has announced the recipients of its Spring 2025 scholarships, recognizing six students for their dedication to legal education and potential contributions to the legal field.
Lamone Graham, a Class of 2025 student, received the Merchant & Gould Scholarship for her commitment to intellectual property, business, and criminal defense law. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Lamone holds an undergraduate degree in Communication and Public Relations from Valdosta State University. She expressed gratitude for being selected again for this scholarship: “I am honored to be selected as a repeat awardee of this scholarship! I have a passion for helping small business owners understand the value of owning and protecting their intangible assets, so this award means a lot.”
Taylor Williams, also recognized with the Judge Renata Turner Scholarship, is dedicated to public service and pursuing a career in criminal law. Hailing from Miami, Florida, Taylor earned her degree in Political Science from Clark Atlanta University. She stated: “I am deeply honored to be selected as a recipient of the Judge Renata Turner Scholarship. This generous support not only eases the financial burden of my education but also affirms the importance of pursuing a career dedicated to serving others.”
Justin Huggins was awarded the John E. Ryan Scholarship in recognition of his legal education journey and challenges faced by out-of-state students. From Chattanooga, Tennessee, Justin commutes frequently between Chattanooga and Atlanta while studying at AJMLS. He shared his appreciation: “Thank you so much for the John E. Ryan Scholarship! Traveling multiple times a week from Chattanooga... can be difficult, but this scholarship greatly helps.”
Emma Gibson received the Georgia Bar Success Award as she prepares for graduation and aims to serve vulnerable populations through public interest law. Originally from Syracuse, New York, Emma holds an undergraduate degree in Sociology from Loyola Marymount University. She expressed her gratitude: “I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Michael Markovitz... This support not only eases my financial burden but also serves as a powerful statement of belief in my potential.”
Jasmine Knight was awarded the McCloud Law Firm Scholarship as she enters her final year at AJMLS focusing on criminal law advocacy work for victims of domestic violence. Jasmine is originally from Burlington, New Jersey and studied Criminal Justice at The University of Alabama. She said: “I am blessed to receive the McCloud Law Firm Scholarship... As someone who worries a lot about finances during bar prep time—this means that much more.”
Lastly Alisha McCrimmon received Melissa Hamrick Memorial Funded by Attorney Tracie Henderson—aiding her early exploration into personal injury/criminal fields after completing Bachelor Arts Georgia State University studies hailing Cumming Georgia origin basis—appreciative voice raised towards bestowed assistance remarking gracious sentiments back forth therein concluded stance-wise thusly so.
