Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School (AJMLS) has renamed its Consecutive Giving Society to The Gatewood Society in honor of Dean and CEO Jace C. Gatewood. This change is a tribute to Dean Gatewood's leadership and dedication to the institution's future.
The purpose and structure of the society remain unchanged. The Gatewood Society acknowledges donors who contribute to AJMLS for three or more consecutive fiscal years, regardless of the amount. This consistent support provides essential stability, enabling the law school to offer quality legal education and nurture future leaders.
Over the past three years, members of The Gatewood Society have significantly impacted AJMLS's financial health. Although only 11% of donors are part of this society, their contributions account for nearly half of all funds raised.
This fiscal year (FY25), the society has experienced a 44% growth rate. Its diverse membership includes leadership, alumni, and internal stakeholders who share common values and long-term commitment to AJMLS.
Members receive several benefits as appreciation for their support: personalized welcome packets, special gifts, and invitations to exclusive events with faculty, students, and leadership.
Joining The Gatewood Society is straightforward; donors are recognized as members after making a gift for three consecutive fiscal years. Membership is maintained by giving every subsequent fiscal year.
By renaming the society in honor of Dean Gatewood, AJMLS not only honors a leader but also reinforces his legacy. "The Gatewood Society ensures that the values he championed continue to inspire a culture of generosity and shared purpose."
