More than a dozen individuals have been indicted on charges related to gang activities, drugs, and weapons in DeKalb County. On March 25, 2025, a grand jury issued indictments against 17 alleged gang members. The individuals charged include Darin Katharail Harris, Nashan Levonta Hutton, Calvary Ray Jackson, Jakai Tyere Lewis, Amarion Jacoby Pitts, Joshua Demarquis Thomas, Naseem Umar Triplett, Caleb Nehemiah Dudley, Ashton Patrick George, Jameel Thomas Jones, Camryn Anaya Byrd, John Ben Frazier, Jerry Devaun Johnson, Fratavic Trevorious Goodwin, Donovan Logan, Tyrique Thomas, and Daniel Kenneth Solomon.

All defendants face multiple charges including violations of the Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act and various drug and weapons-related offenses. Specific additional charges were brought against Nashan Hutton for firearm possession by a first offender probationer and Daniel Solomon for firearm possession by a convicted felon.

The investigation began after Cedar Park Police Department in Texas alerted the DeKalb County Police Department (DKPD) about suspects connected to an armed robbery who had ties to DeKalb County. A search warrant executed on April 5, 2024 at a Lithonia residence led to the recovery of firearms and illegal substances.

During the search on Cleethropes Drive in Lithonia by DKPD officers along with agents from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), and Cedar Park Police Department in Texas; authorities found automatic weapons and illegal drugs including psychedelic mushrooms.

The case is set to be assigned to a Superior Court Judge for arraignment before proceeding to trial. Additionally, on January 14, 2025; Fratavic Goodwin, Jerry Johnson and Joshua Thomas were indicted on murder-related charges linked to the death of Nicholas Grierson on April 4, 2024.

Both cases are under prosecution by the District Attorney’s Office’s Homicide and Gangs Unit.
