Hosch Professor and Meigs Distinguished Teaching Professor Lori A. Ringhand's book, "Supreme Bias: Gender and Race in U.S. Supreme Court Confirmation Hearings," has been recognized as a 2024 Choice Outstanding Academic Title. The book, published by Stanford University Press in 2023 and co-authored with C.L. Boyd and P.M. Collins, examines the influence of gender and race in the confirmation hearings of U.S. Supreme Court justices.

The Choice Outstanding Academic Title list is known for highlighting significant scholarly works reviewed by Choice editors over the past year. According to the announcement, this list "reflects the best scholarly titles reviewed by Choice during the previous calendar year, as chosen by the editors."

In addition to this recognition, "Supreme Bias" also received a Pritchett Award earlier this year.
