For the second year, the University of Georgia School of Law took part in a legal pop-up clinic in Troup County. The event provided free civil legal advice and referrals to local residents. Veterans Legal Clinic Director Alexander W. “Alex” Scherr, along with third-year student Cameron F. Goodman and second-year student Supreme Unukegwo from the Public Interest Practicum, were involved in the late-October initiative.
The clinic was co-hosted by the School of Law, Troup County courts, and the Georgia Legal Services Program. It served over 40 individuals seeking legal consultation, doubling the number assisted at last year's event.
The law school's involvement was made possible through a grant from the Callaway Foundation.
