Malicious emails are being circulated among CM/ECF users, masquerading as communications from federal courts. These emails mimic a Notice of Electronic Filing and contain harmful attachments or links. Users are advised to exercise caution.

The fraudulent emails present themselves with the following details:

"NOTICE OF ELECTRONIC FILING [NEF]"

They appear to originate from "updates7@uscourts.gov.ecf.digital" with an official file stamp dated November 6, 2024. The notification also mentions the US District Court and urges recipients to respond by November 6, 2024.

The email falsely claims that an attached filing has been submitted to the court and requests a response by the specified date. Recipients are warned not to download any attachments or click on any links within these emails.

Federal courts have clarified that these emails are not legitimate communications. Users should remain vigilant and avoid interacting with such suspicious messages.
