The University of Georgia School of Law has expanded its clinical program with the addition of five new attorneys in 2024. This move aligns with the school's commitment to providing quality legal education and services to underserved communities.

Ethan Smith joins as a staff attorney in the Veterans Legal Clinic. He completed his J.D. at Georgia State University in 2018 and served in the Judge Advocate General Corps for the U.S. Navy. Thomas Evans, a graduate from UGA Law in 2022, becomes the inaugural post-graduate legal fellow in the Community Health Law Partnership Clinic after two years as a staff attorney with the 11th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals.

The First Amendment Clinic welcomes Christina Lee and Urub Khawaja as new legal fellows. Lee graduated from Cornell Law School in 2021 and previously worked as an associate at Cahill Gordon & Reindel in New York City. Khawaja is a recent graduate from the University of Texas School of Law, class of 2024.

Trey Barnett is now part of the Wilbanks Child Endangerment and Sexual Exploitation Clinic team as a legal fellow. He previously served as an assistant public defender at the DeKalb County Public Defender's Office after graduating from Georgia State University College of Law in 2021.

These additions are expected to enhance both educational opportunities for students and access to legal assistance for those who need it most.
