Mercer to confer degrees to more than 2,200 graduates at five commencements in May

Mercer University is gearing up to confer bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees to over 2,200 students in five commencement ceremonies scheduled for May in Macon and Atlanta. According to the announcement, the total number of students eligible for graduation surpasses 2,600.

Caylee Noggle, President and CEO of the Georgia Hospital Association, will be the commencement speaker for the School of Medicine. Noggle, who previously held key positions in Georgia's government, will address 162 candidates for degrees from School of Medicine campuses in Macon, Savannah, and Columbus.

Ivy N. Cadle, managing shareholder with Baker Donelson Law Firm, will deliver the commencement address at the Mercer Law School ceremony. Cadle, a distinguished alum of Mercer Law School, has garnered recognition for his litigation skills and commitment to the legal community.

Thomas P. (Tom) Bishop, Chair of the Board of Trustees, will give greetings at the ceremonies in both Atlanta and Macon. Bishop, a Double Bear with degrees from Mercer, will address over 1,100 candidates for degrees across the two Atlanta ceremonies.

Student Kendall Webb, with an impressive academic record, will serve as the commencement speaker for the Macon campus ceremony. Webb, a Stamps Scholar, will graduate with a 4.0 GPA and plans to continue her career in politics and public policy after participating in a prestigious leadership program at the University of Texas.

The ceremonies in Atlanta and Macon are ticketed events, but all ceremonies will be livestreamed on mercer.edu/commencement for those unable to attend in person.
