Three Mercer University School of Law graduates were honored with prestigious awards during the law school’s annual alumni dinner on March 2 in Atlanta.
The Hon. William “Bill” P. Adams, a distinguished alumnus, was presented with the Meritorious Service Award. Adams, who graduated cum laude from Mercer Law School in 1977, has had a remarkable career, including serving as a federal prosecutor and later as a judge in Bibb County. Adams has been recognized for his community service efforts, including receiving the Justice Robert Benham Award and the Lawyer of the Year award from the Macon Bar Association.
Another honoree, The Hon. John E. Morse Jr., received the Outstanding Alumnus Award for his exceptional contributions to the legal profession. Morse, who graduated from Mercer Law School in 1982, has served as a judge in the Superior Court of the Eastern Judicial Circuit of Georgia since 1995. He has been commended for his service to the Savannah community and his leadership within the judiciary.
Amanda M. Morejon, a young alumna from the class of 2017, was recognized with the Young Alumni Volunteer of the Year Award. Morejon has been actively involved in supporting Mercer Law School, from spearheading the creation of a scholarship during her time as a student to serving as the Young Alumni Council’s president post-graduation. She has been dedicated to enhancing the experiences of both current students and alumni through various initiatives and mentorship opportunities.
The Mercer School of Law Alumni Awards not only celebrate the achievements of these outstanding individuals but also highlight the strong sense of community and dedication among Mercer Law School graduates.
