UGA Law finishes as finalists in Miller National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition

Feb 27 2024

Congratulations to second-year students M. Drake Jones, Joseph P. Will, and Emily C. Wood for their outstanding performance in the 36th annual Jeffrey G. Miller National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition held at Pace University's Elizabeth Haub School of Law. The trio showcased their legal prowess and advocacy skills throughout the three-day appellate advocacy competition, where they represented three different parties in six separate oral arguments.

Jones and Wood excelled by winning individual best oralist awards in each of the three preliminary rounds, contributing to the team's undefeated record leading into the intense three-party final argument. The dedication and talent displayed by these students have undoubtedly left a mark on the competition.

The success of the UGA Law team was further supported by the guidance and mentorship of third-year student Andrew C. Haygood and Assistant Professor Adam D. Orford, who coached the students to reach their full potential in the prestigious moot court competition.
