The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia has announced amendments to Local Rules 16.2 and 67.1, as well as Appendix B to the Local Rules, which will take effect on December 1, 2025.

The court stated that the Joint Preliminary Report and Discovery Plan (JPRDP) in Appendix B has been updated to address how parties claim privilege and protect trial preparation materials. These revisions were made in response to changes in the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure that are also set to become effective on December 1, 2025. The update aims to clarify procedures related to these legal protections.

Local Rule 16.2, which outlines requirements for the JPRDP, was revised for greater simplicity according to the court's announcement. Additionally, Local Rule 67.1 was amended to reflect processes for electronic funds transfer regarding registry payments.
