Effective October 9, 2025, the Eleventh Circuit Judicial Council has approved changes to the Criminal Justice Act (CJA) Plan for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. The updated plan introduces interim compensation and a mentoring program, as well as new reappointment requirements for attorneys on the CJA panel.

The revised plan is included as Appendix D to the court’s Local Rules. A version highlighting the changes from the May 17, 2021, edition is also available.

According to the announcement, "The revisions provide for interim compensation and a mentoring program and impose reappointment requirements for CJA panel attorneys."
