The United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia has approved changes to its Local Rules, specifically amending the Joint Preliminary Report and Discovery Plan (JPRDP) in Appendix B. These updates are intended to address how parties handle claims of privilege and the protection of trial preparation materials, reflecting upcoming amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure that are expected to take effect on December 1, 2025.

Alongside these changes, Local Rule 16.2—which outlines requirements for the JPRDP—has been revised for greater simplicity. Additionally, Local Rule 67.1(C), which deals with registry payments, now includes provisions related to electronic funds transfers.

The court is seeking public feedback on these proposed rule changes until October 31, 2025. More information can be found in the official notice available here.
