A DeKalb County man has been indicted on more than 30 charges in connection with a series of domestic violence incidents that led to the deaths of his estranged wife and a 6-year-old girl.
On Thursday, a DeKalb County Grand Jury indicted William Almond, 47, on multiple counts including two counts of Malice Murder, five counts of Felony Murder, aggravated assault charges, cruelty to children charges, criminal damage to property, possession of firearms during the commission of felonies and as a convicted felon, and sexual battery. The charges stem from an incident on June 3, 2025, and the shooting deaths of Tomekia Pullins, 29, and Dior Scott, 6, on June 13, 2025.
The Grand Jury also indicted Almond for aggravated assault – family violence and theft by taking related to an alleged attack on Pullins on February 22, 2025. In addition, Almond faces charges in a separate indictment for home invasion in the first degree and other offenses tied to an incident involving Pullins on January 1, 2025.
According to investigators with the DeKalb County Police Department (DKPD), officers responded to domestic violence calls involving Almond and Pullins at an apartment in the 2500 block of Columbia Drive in unincorporated Decatur on three occasions: January 1, February 22, and June 3. Pullins was living separately from Almond at this location.
On June 13, DKPD officers were called to the apartment after reports of a shooting. Officers found a shattered window and discovered Pullins and Scott inside with gunshot wounds; both were pronounced dead at the scene. Several adults and children were present during the incident. Witnesses identified Almond as the shooter.
Almond was apprehended later that day by the DeKalb County SWAT Team. He is currently being held without bond.
The District Attorney’s Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Unit will prosecute the case. It will be assigned to a Superior Court Judge for arraignment before a trial date is set.
