Amazon has announced an investment of $18.5 billion in Georgia since 2010, resulting in the creation of 34,000 direct jobs and supporting an additional 44,700 roles across the state.

Georgia's logistics strength is attributed to its extensive highway network, the Port of Savannah, and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. These elements position Georgia as a central hub for both domestic and international distribution, enabling businesses to reach 80% of the U.S. market within a two-day truck drive. The state's infrastructure continues to attract major companies in logistics and e-commerce.

As of January 2024, Amazon has created 34,000 full- and part-time jobs in Georgia and supported 44,700 additional indirect jobs through its investments. These estimates are based on Input-Output methodology developed by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis and analyzed by third-party consultancy Keystone Strategy.

According to an August 2024 report from the Atlanta Business Chronicle, Amazon’s $18.5 billion investment in Georgia has contributed $20.1 billion to the state’s GDP. This includes spending on infrastructure, employee compensation, and local supplier contracts. The report credits Amazon with strengthening Georgia’s overall economic output.

Amazon is a global technology and retail company employing more than 1.5 million people worldwide. In the United States, it has invested over $1.2 trillion since 2010 in infrastructure, jobs, and local communities. The company's operations span cloud computing, logistics, entertainment, and consumer products.
