Jauan Rashun Porter, a resident of Rome, Georgia, was arrested and charged with making threats against the President of the United States. According to federal authorities, Porter allegedly made several threatening statements about former President Donald Trump during a TikTok livestream on July 26, 2025. The livestream was captioned “Alligator Alcatraz,” where Porter reportedly commented: “So there’s only one way to make America great and that is putting a bullet in between Trump’s eyes.” He also allegedly stated, “I’m gonna kill Donald Trump. I’m gonna put a 7.62 bullet inside his forehead,” and added, “I’m gonna watch him bleed out and I’m gonna watch him die . . . I’m gonna do that.”

When asked by the host of the livestream about the possibility of federal agents coming to his door, Porter allegedly responded: “I’m gonna kill them too.”

U.S. Attorney Theodore S. Hertzberg said, “The allegations against Porter are serious and required a swift, decisive, and collaborative response. We do not tolerate threats against public officials or law enforcement officers, and Porter will now face the consequences of his actions.”

Robert Donovan, Deputy Special Agent in Charge at the Atlanta Field Office of the United States Secret Service stated: “The United States Secret Service takes threats against a protectee very seriously. We will investigate every threat, and if warranted, prosecute those who make threats to the fullest extent of the law.”

During their investigation, Secret Service agents worked with Floyd County police officers and State of Georgia probation officers to search Porter’s apartment. They found two pipes, pistol ammunition, and Tannerite (an explosive). Authorities noted that Porter has previous convictions for offenses including terroristic threats, influencing a witness, mutiny in a penal institution, drug possession, battery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and domestic violence. He is currently on probation.

Porter was formally charged by criminal complaint on August 7 and ordered detained by U.S. Magistrate Judge Walter E. Johnson pending a detention hearing set for August 12.

Officials reminded the public that these charges are allegations; Porter is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

The case is being investigated by the United States Secret Service with assistance from local agencies including Floyd County Police Department and District Attorney’s Office as well as Georgia Department of Community Supervision.

Assistant United States Attorney Brian Michael Pearce is prosecuting this case.
