Christopher Robertson, 42, of Fairburn, Georgia, appeared before United States Magistrate Judge Catherine M. Salinas on federal charges related to interstate threats. Robertson is accused of posting multiple videos on Facebook in which he made threats against Jews and Black people. He was arrested on August 1, 2025, following a standoff with the FBI and will remain in custody until his next court hearing scheduled for August 7.
United States Attorney Theodore S. Hertzberg stated: “The allegations against Robertson, which include menacing visits to Jewish facilities and vile online threats against Jews and Blacks, are of great concern. Protecting the community from hate-fueled violence is a foundational part of the Department of Justice’s mission, and we will aggressively prosecute criminals who abuse the internet to terrorize and intimidate others.”
Special Agent in Charge of FBI Atlanta Paul Brown said: “Mr. Robertson’s alleged actions serve as a disturbing reminder of the terrifying hatred our Jewish communities encounter simply because of their beliefs. The FBI will continue to work diligently with our law enforcement and community partners to investigate any individual who threatens the safety of our residents.”
Court documents indicate that on July 30, staff at the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta (JFGA) observed Robertson inside their secure parking area without authorization. Security staff approached him; he claimed to be “the official spokesperson for the white race” and asked to speak with a senior Jewish official before being told to leave.
Robertson then visited The Temple synagogue in Midtown Atlanta where he made derogatory comments about Jews and spoke about what he described as the decline of the white race. An Atlanta Police Department officer present at The Temple witnessed this interaction.
Subsequent investigation revealed that Robertson operated several social media accounts containing antisemitic content and threatening posts. In one YouTube video he sang lyrics expressing violent intent toward Jews; another Facebook post featured him holding a pistol while making statements about defending his race by any means necessary.
After these incidents came to light, law enforcement increased patrols around approximately 80 Jewish facilities across metro Atlanta.
On July 31, after posting online about wanting “to chop it up with a rabbi,” Robertson entered a Chabad building in Peachtree City. Staff members barricaded themselves while calling police as Robertson filmed himself claiming representation for “the white race” and telling those present they were at risk of extermination.
The following day, Robertson posted another video threatening violence against Black people who oppose whites.
A federal arrest warrant was issued later that evening. When agents attempted arrest at his home, Robertson refused entry for hours before surrendering peacefully; authorities recovered a firearm during this process.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is leading this case’s investigation.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Brent Alan Gray and Bret R. Hobson are prosecuting.
