A man from Gilmer County, Ronald Richardson, has been indicted on additional charges for allegedly using Artificial Intelligence to alter ordinary photographs into child sexual abuse material. The Gilmer County Grand Jury issued the indictment on July 8, 2025, which was officially filed on July 11, 2025.
Richardson, aged 47, faces a total of 120 counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children following the new indictment. Initially indicted on April 16, 2025, with 76 counts of the same charge, further investigation led by the DeKalb County District Attorney's Office resulted in an additional 44 charges being brought forward. These charges involve more than 100 victims both within and outside the state.
The arrest took place on January 17, 2025, by deputies from the Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office after a thorough investigation. Richardson has been held in custody since his arrest.
The DeKalb County District Attorney's Office agreed to act as conflict prosecutor for this case at the request of the Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia back in February.
Richardson is now awaiting arraignment based on these updated charges. The investigation into his activities continues actively.
