The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts has announced that it will start implementing multifactor authentication (MFA) for CM/ECF and PACER systems on May 11. This move aims to enhance system security. Users with CM/ECF-level access who do not voluntarily enroll in MFA will be randomly selected to participate starting in August. The requirement for all users with CM/ECF-level access to use MFA when logging in will be fully enforced by the end of 2025.
