Federal authorities have indicted eight individuals allegedly linked to the street gang GoodFellas on charges of racketeering. The defendants, Frank Hubbert, Montavis Jones, Darian Sheppard, De’Andre Jackson, Ephram Marshall, Tahj Rankine, Leonunte Carson, and Ahday Nelson-George face serious allegations including attempted murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in aid of racketeering. A federal grand jury in the Northern District of Georgia returned the 12-count indictment on March 4, 2025.

Acting U.S. Attorney Richard S. Moultrie Jr. emphasized the determination of law enforcement to address gang violence: “This indictment reflects the collective determination of our Office and law enforcement partners to confront the deadly cycle of gang violence perpetrated by criminal organizations like GoodFellas whose violence and disregard for public safety threaten the security of our communities.”

The FBI's Atlanta Special Agent in Charge Paul Brown commented on the broader impact: “These are not victimless crimes. Communities are hurting and will continue to be impacted as long as violent gangs engage in bloody street wars.” Special Agent in Charge Benjamin Gibbons added that this case highlights effective collaboration among law enforcement agencies.

According to court documents presented by Acting U.S. Attorney Moultrie, GoodFellas is an Atlanta-based gang involved in various criminal activities such as drug trafficking and robbery. The group is accused of using violence to protect its operations.

Specific incidents detailed in the indictment include a January 17, 2021 event where Hubbert and Nelson-George allegedly confronted individuals at gunpoint during a music video shoot at an Atlanta apartment complex. Another incident on February 2, 2021 involved Sheppard, Jackson, Marshall, Rankine, and Carson firing multiple rounds at an Atlanta gas station. Additionally, on February 10, 2021 Sheppard and others allegedly fired approximately 50 rounds injuring several people including a child.

Each defendant faces multiple charges ranging from attempted murder to firearm offenses related to violent crime. Notably charged is Frank Hubbert who also goes by "Capo Frank," identified as an alleged leader within GoodFellas.

Authorities remind that these charges are allegations and that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt at trial.

The investigation is being conducted by the FBI with assistance from other agencies including ATF and local police departments. Prosecutors handling the case include Assistant U.S. Attorney Lauren E. Renaud along with Trial Attorney Sarah J. Rasalam.
