District Attorney Keith Higgins | District Attorney for the Brunswick Judicial Circuit

On August 29, 2024, Jason Palmer from Littleton, Massachusetts, was found guilty by a Camden County jury for the murder of his former fiancé, Jessica Goodrich. The charges included Malice Murder, Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Concealing the Death of Another. Superior Court Judge Stephen Kelley sentenced Palmer to life in prison without parole and an additional ten years.

The case dates back to September 2022 when Palmer convinced Goodrich to accompany him on a trucking assignment along the east coast. Their journey took them from Worcester, Massachusetts to central Florida and eventually to a truck stop in Camden County. It was there that Palmer fatally stabbed Goodrich and hid her body nearby.

Goodrich's remains were discovered on October 8, 2022. Investigators identified her through fingerprints and focused on Palmer as the main suspect due to evidence of past abuse and threats against Goodrich. Photographs sent by Goodrich to her son depicted injuries inflicted by Palmer. GPS data confirmed Palmer's presence near the crime scene before the body was found.

Senior Assistant District Attorney Hal Moroz and Assistant District Attorney Cameron Atwood prosecuted the case. James Galloway led the investigation with support from Lt. Erica Rafferty and Lt. Nathan Daniel.
