U.S. Attorney Ryan K. Buchanan expressed the commitment of his office to combat collusion, corruption, and fraud in government services, stating, “Our office is committed to working closely with our federal, state, and local partners to ensure that the citizens of this district receive government services free from collusion, corruption, and fraud.”
Director Glad highlighted the importance of partnerships in protecting taxpayer funds, stating, “Our partnerships increase awareness and combine resources and tools that protect taxpayers’ money.”
During the summit, U.S. Attorney Buchanan and Director Glad discussed the growth and success of the Procurement Collusion Strike Force (PCSF) since its inception in 2019. They emphasized the importance of law enforcement partnerships and a whole-of-government response to combat threats in government spending.
The PCSF, a national law enforcement effort targeting antitrust crimes and fraudulent schemes impacting government funding, has opened over 100 criminal investigations and trained more than 31,000 people since its establishment. Notably, the PCSF and Antitrust Division have investigated and prosecuted over 65 companies and individuals involving more than $500 million worth of government contracts.
The summit also focused on ways that federal, state, and local government agencies can partner with the PCSF to address emerging threats and strengthen procurement processes to safeguard taxpayer funds. Various law enforcement agencies and government bodies participated in the summit, underlining the collaborative efforts to ensure integrity in government contracts.
The Department of Justice reaffirmed its support for the PCSF as it enters its fifth year, encouraging individuals to report collusion affecting government contracts through their website.
