District Attorney Keith Higgins announced that Laronse Adriese Chambliss, 21, of Brunswick, GA, entered a non-negotiated guilty plea in Glynn County Superior Court on March 4, 2024, to Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm During Commission of a Felony. Chambliss entered his plea just before the commencement of the trial in his case.

According to the facts presented in court, on December 28, 2022, the victim in the case was in Brunswick when he was lured to an address on Pine Street through the Grinder App. Two individuals wearing face coverings approached him, with one of them pointing a handgun at him and demanding his wallet. The victim managed to escape, but not before being shot once in the shoulder while fleeing the scene.

During the investigation, it was revealed that Chambliss was involved in the incident. He confessed to being present with his co-defendant, who initiated the shooting. Chambliss admitted to firing at least one shot with a 9mm handgun, claiming he was unaware of the robbery plan beforehand.

Chambliss still faces additional charges, including armed robbery, home invasion, and burglary. Sentencing has been postponed until the resolution of his other cases and those of his co-defendant. If convicted, Chambliss could potentially face life in prison for armed robbery, in addition to a 25-year sentence for aggravated assault and gun charges.
