DeKalb County District Attorney Sherry Boston has announced that a Lithonia man, Antonio Williams, has been convicted by a jury trial for the fatal stabbing of his mother, Terri Alexander. Williams, 28, was found guilty on charges of Malice Murder, two counts of Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Knife During the Commission of a Felony stemming from the incident on March 5, 2020.

According to the investigation, officers from the DeKalb County Police Department responded to a person down call at a home in Lithonia, where they found Williams sitting in front of the garage. Williams claimed that he had found his mother unresponsive and sought help from a neighbor, stating that she had fainted. The victim, Terri Alexander, was discovered in the garage with multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Further evidence revealed a disturbing scene in the house, with firewood, lighter fluid, and charcoal found near the victim, along with a burn hole in the sheet covering her body. Blood was found throughout the house, along with a bloody chef’s knife, bloody towels, black trash bags, and empty bleach bottles. Williams' bathroom contained bloody shoes and a bathtub filled with water.

The investigation also uncovered a history of mental health issues involving Williams and his mother, with records showing a prior incident where Williams was transported to a mental health unit after an argument about cleaning the bathroom. Williams was released from the hospital the day before the fatal stabbing.

DeKalb County Judge Winston Bethel will schedule a sentencing hearing for Williams in the coming weeks. The case was prosecuted by Senior Assistant District Attorney Andrew Turner and Senior Assistant District Attorney Eleanor Friedman, with assistance from District Attorney Investigator A. Zackery and Victim Advocate Kaysha Albritton. DeKalb County Police Department Detective D.D. Evans led the initial investigation.
