Cobb County District Attorney Flynn D. Broady, Jr. will be hosting a town hall meeting on February 6th in Austell, Georgia. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss enhancing community safety and supporting victims within Cobb County. The event will be held at Destiny World Church and is open to the public.
During the town hall meeting, Broady will be addressing various initiatives and programs aimed at improving the criminal justice system and providing support to victims. One of the initiatives that will be highlighted is the Cobb Family Advocacy Center, which recently had its grand opening in December. This center serves as a collaborative space for partner agencies to address family-related issues and provide support.
Broady will also be emphasizing the importance of the Victim Witness program, which is committed to guiding victims through the criminal justice process and assisting them in securing restitution. He will discuss the office's dedication to supporting and advocating for victims.
In addition, the town hall meeting will explore alternative case resolution strategies, such as pretrial diversion programs and accountability courts for drug offenses, mental health, veterans, and parental accountability. These programs aim to provide alternatives to traditional court proceedings and focus on rehabilitation and support for individuals involved.
Broady will also be discussing the Opioid Fatality Project, an initiative aimed at addressing the opioid crisis in Cobb County. This project aims to raise awareness, provide resources, and implement strategies to combat the devastating effects of opioid addiction.
The town hall meeting will provide an opportunity for the community to engage with District Attorney Broady and learn more about the initiatives and programs in place to enhance community safety and support victims. It is an important event for residents to voice their concerns, ask questions, and contribute to the ongoing efforts to improve the criminal justice system in Cobb County.
